The straightforward loop trail begins on the suspension bridge in Newhalem or from the Newhalem Creek Powerhouse and follows the Skagit River for about one-third of a mile. There are quite a few interconnecting trails within the surrounding space, so be at liberty to discover. We hiked it in late September and have been treated to a kaleidoscopic show of spectacular fall colours, from russet to gold to pumpkin.
